Joe Grabas is one of only a few dozen individuals in the State of New Jersey who hold the designation of Certified Title Professional and is one of the first five individuals in the United States to be designated as a National Title Professional by the American Land Title Association.
Joe is one of the leading experts in historical land title research, having searched, examined and/or insured over 100,000 land titles in 5 States and all 21 Counties in New Jersey over the last 4 decades. Joe is a professional educator and lecturer. He has pioneered the field in interpretive land records research and has been qualified as an Expert in land title and real estate matters by the Superior Court of NJ, and has provided testimony in various title litigation. Mr. Grabas has been certified by the NJ Department of Banking & Insurance as a Title Instructor and has been authorized by the NJ Real Estate Commission and the NJ Supreme Court to teach continuing education to insurance producers, realtors and lawyers. Joe is a Commissioner on the Monmouth County Historical Commission, a visiting lecturer at Monmouth University and serves on the NJ Tidelands Resource Council. Joe is the author of the award winning book Owning New Jersey: Historic Tales of War, Property Disputes and the Pursuit of Happiness.

Q&A with PNJ is a project of Preservation New Jersey that seeks to highlight voices across New Jersey’s historic preservation community and bring their knowledge and expertise on a wide variety of historic preservation topics to the public. Q&A with PNJ will initially take place online, and run approximately one-hour. The session will start with a quick networking round (5-10 minutes) where all attendees will share their name and if applicable, affiliation. The session will end with 15 minutes of Q&A from the Audience.
